The search is intensifying for a 5-year-old boy reported missing in Fruitland and last seen Tuesday.
An increasing number of state and local agencies are searching for Michael Joseph Vaughn, a young boy who went missing around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday near his home on SW 9th Street in Fruitland, according to a Wednesday night news release from the Fruitland Police Department.
In addition to state and local law enforcement and crews from the Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue Team, the Army National Guard sent a helicopter to search the area where the child went missing. The agencies searched nearby canals while water levels were lower and did not find the child. Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue was then released, as authorities believe the area surrounding the home was thoroughly searched.

The search for human remains at the site of the collapsed Miami tower block has ended – with just one person still unaccounted for.
The Miami-Dade County fire and rescue department on Friday concluded a month of painstaking, round-the-clock work looking through what was left of the 12-storey oceanside Champlain Towers South after it crumpled on June 24, killing 97 people.
The site in the Miami suburb of Surfside has been mostly swept flat and the rubble moved to a warehouse.
Forensic scientists there are still at work, examining bags of debris for further human remains and personal effects, but there are now believed to be no more bodies to be found where the building once stood.
GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. — Authorities are once again searching a property in Grain Valley where human remains were found last week.
Independence police have confirmed that the investigation is still active and they are currently conducting a search at Michael Hendricks’ home in Grain Valley.
They have not been charged with anything involving Aubry’s death.
The FBI and the Independence Police Department search the property on July 14 in regards to a missing persons case.
“A lot of policemen,” Curi Tobar said. “So, it’s a little scary, but I don’t really know what’s going on.”
