While Brookside police were looking for a stolen vehicle, they came upon a marijuana farm.The police found the stolen vehicle at a home on Brookside Coalburg Road Monday evening.While they secured the scene, officers found a marijuana grow farm on the property.Officers were able to arrest four people. Two other people fled the scene. Officers said one person that fled was armed with an illegal sawed off shotgun. Brookside K9, Narcotics Agents and tactical units were then called to the scene and continued the search for the armed suspects. At approximately 1:15am, Brookside K-9 units located the 5th suspect jumping into the backseat of a passing vehicle. He was immediately taken into custody, officials said.The K-9 units found the final suspect hiding in the woods at about 4:30 a.m. and he was taken into custody. Evidence technicians were called to the scene at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to collect evidence after a search warrant was issued. Authorities have recovered more than $10,000 in counterfeit money, two printing machines, four AR-15 rifles, two of the rifles were reported stolen out of Georgia, a stolen trailer from Birmingham, multiple handguns and weapons, two Kawasaki Ninja motorcycles, a bus , an RV trailer, three four-wheelers, and numerous items and tools identified as stolen property, as reported in the police report.Alabama Power investigators also identified stolen property on the scene as part of their internal investigation.All six people were taken into custody and taken to the Brookside Jail.The Cullman Police Department, the Jefferson County District Attorneys office, the State Narcotics Task Force all assisted in the case.
