WATERBURY — Police detectives found two guns, 500 bags of heroin and more than 40 grams of crack in a city apartment Tuesday, the Waterbury Police Department announced Friday.

Police searched the apartment on Craftwood Road Tuesday after investigating Christopher Poller, 28, of Waterbury. Though the apartment was not his primary residence, police found him and a woman there, according to the police department.

In the apartment, police found more than 500 bags of heroin, 44 grams of crack, two loaded pistols — one of which had an extended magazine — and about $21,000 in cash. Police said Poller is a convicted felon, making it illegal for him to possess firearms.

Poller was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, two counts of illegal sale or transfer of a firearm, two counts of weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, declaration of possession of large capacity magazine, stealing a firearm, operating a drug factory, possession of half an ounce or more of crack and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, police said.

Poller was considered a parole absconder and was remanded into the custody of the state Department of Corrections, police said.

The woman, identified as Sheena Hurdle, 33, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was initially held by police on a $100,000 bond pending court arraignment, police said.
