A home up for rent in Killeen, Texas, is turning heads on a popular social media real estate page — just in time for LGBTQ Pride month — which is celebrated every June to coincide the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York.
While the inside of this four-bedroom, two-bathroom home might be a tad on the humdrum side, the outside is painted like a perfect rainbow, giving it a colorful burst of life.
According to the listing on Zillow, the 1,050-square foot residence, which is available for $1,499 a month, has been completely renovated and has updated the following:
-
Flooring
-
Kitchen cabinets
-
Counter tops
-
Bathrooms
It even has included “energy-efficiency upgrades.”
The iridescent exterior caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a real estate Facebook page, and fans had thoughts on the vibrant outside in comparison with the tone-downed inside.
“Yaaaaaas kweeen!!! I would rent this specifically for its message!” one person said.
“What bothers me about this house is the straight vanilla interior,” another mentioned. “An exterior like that deserves panache inside too.”
“The outside is charming and playful, the inside is the most dreary, canned flip cliches available,” someone observed. “Too bad. Let’s see some follow through!”
“I feel like this is the house equivalent of a mullet,” one person joked. “Business on the inside, party on the out. I expected more pizzazz on the interior.”
“If that wasn’t too dang much to pay for a house I don’t own, I’d rent it,” someone said, referring to the rent cost.
“TX needs more houses like this,” another commented.
Killeen is considered to have a strong military presence since it’s about 3 miles southeast of Fort Hood, GayRealEstate.com says.
The city is located about 70 miles north of Austin.
