Finally, some good news for people looking to buy a home in the Sacramento region.
New data from Redfin shows that the number of active listings of homes for sale is on the rise throughout much of the area. Some communities are seeing huge jumps over the same time last year, including the growing suburbs along Highway 70 north of Sacramento.
There remain some pockets of the region where inventory is lower than it was last year.
Local real estate market experts still say there aren’t enough homes for sale. And without adequate supply, demand will remain intense – and so will competition.

Now, the social media company is a multi-billion-dollar force of nature, and that average house the trio once rented is on the Los Altos, California, market for $5.2 million.
